The decentralized metaverse business The Sandbox, a division of Animoca Brands, has announced a partnership with North American gaming and esports organization FaZe Clan.
Through this agreement, FaZe Clan will establish a virtual territory called FaZe World and enter the metaverse. The release states that FaZe and Sandbox will collaborate to develop new revenue streams while also hosting events and experiences in FaZe World.
One of the more well-known virtual worlds is The Sandbox, which is renowned for hosting a variety of online real estate projects. Notably, Animoca Brands has collaborated with organizations including Adidas, Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Gucci, and the metal band Avenged Sevenfold. These businesses host activations in the metaverse and have their own stories there. A plot in the Sandbox metaverse, an NFT sold via the Opensea platform, is available for purchase by anyone.
In the Sandbox metaverse, the FaZe World will be located on a plot of 12 by 12. The world is “part virtual real estate and part entertainment park,” according to the two businesses. Along with hosting virtual events, games, and product debuts, FaZe and Sandbox intend to establish a digital infrastructure.
Users will have the opportunity to buy a virtual plot of property next door to FaZe Clan by purchasing plots encircling the FaZe World.
“FaZe Clan’s leadership position at the pinnacle of gaming and youth culture gives an ideal chance to develop connections and lead the gaming community at large into the metaverse,” said Lee Trink, CEO of FaZe Clan.
