Although The House of Da Vinci 2 uses puzzles in a manner similar to its predecessor, it attempts to provide a more fluid narrative with varying degrees of success. If you liked the first one, this one appears to be better. The gameplay and difficulty of The House of Da Vinci 2 are similar to the original game, but it differs in that it uses a time travel portal that allows players to travel back in time to change historical events, as well as a voice-acted narrative that better flows and connects puzzles.
Ferrara, 1495, and you find yourself incarcerated with no hope of being released. You are abruptly allowed out and taken to meet a man named Borgia. In order to choose the right apprentice, Leonardo created a clever maze filled with obstacles. Borgia believes you have what it takes, even though nobody has yet been able to navigate the maze. You promise to spy on Leonardo da Vinci and report back in exchange for your freedom since he is fascinated by the ideas Leanardo is working on.
Following the plot of The House of Da Vinci 2, we are originally charged with figuring out puzzles to get out of Leonardo’s maze. There are a number of Leonardo’s creations that require riddles to be solved in order to open. Solving one puzzle frequently leads to the solution of another, and possibly another. You will receive rewards for solving puzzles, such as items that launch new ones. Your ultimate objective is to get out of here. The puzzles range from simple ones, like removing obstacles from a hatch so it can be opened, to complex ones with several moving parts that could take you an hour or more to solve.
The time-traveling oculus is the game’s latest feature. With the use of your oculus, you can go back in time to the same place and change events there, which will then affect the present when you return. For instance, turning off water taps that have harmed a bridge during your time will make the bridge safe for you to traverse. Although there aren’t many opportunities to travel through time in The House of Da Vinci 2 game, there will be a handful. Similar to the last game, the oculus also reveals secret letters and reveals the workings of the machinery.
We really liked the puzzles of The House of Da Vinci 2 because they are fascinating and varied. We didn’t enjoy solving the puzzle very much. It happens frequently that you’ll have an inventory item that you got after finishing a prior problem, and you’ll be left wondering what to do with it.
Finding where your item is used will occasionally require you to search every square inch of the space in The House of Da Vinci 2. These may be located in some very remote locations. Your lone indicator may occasionally be a minute variation in color or shape among a multitude of similar shapes. Other times, a tiny scrape or scuff mark on the floor could be a sign that something was once moved. When you zoom close on an object, the camera angle occasionally changes and you can see something you couldn’t before. Use the hint system if you don’t want to spend 20 minutes looking for a little hole.
For The House of Da Vinci 2, the hint system is really helpful. There is a maximum of four hints. The first one or two usually give you the location, and the last one or two offer you a better notion of how to solve the puzzle. They get more and more useful. Although occasionally the tips are blatantly evident and because they are timed, you must wait about thirty seconds for the next hint to become available, we were impressed with the cleverness of the hint system.
Additionally, you have a notepad in the House of Da Vinci 2 game that automatically stores all pertinent data. This could serve to remind you of a numerical pattern you discovered concealed behind a pillar or simply to refresh your memory of the plot. If you save the game at any point, it will restart exactly where you left off, but if you do so while working on a puzzle, it will start from the beginning. If there are numerous pieces to the puzzle, it will go back to the last one and save the progress of your finished tasks.
Compared to the original game, there are a lot more cut scenes and graphical character interactions. The infrequent times you venture outside are one obvious letdown. The scenery appears to be bad. The game benefits from the aesthetics well enough. Despite it being a puzzle game, we were nonetheless captivated by the cut scenes showing the machinery in action. When we had finished the riddle, Leonardo invented spring to life. The story and puzzles are more cohesively put together thanks to the voice acting, which is a great addition. It is carried out really competently. We had no issues.
