BLAST Premier, a global esports tournament organizer, has announced a partnership with A.P. Moller-Maersk, a Danish shipping and logistics company (Maersk).
For the balance of the 2022 season, Maersk will be a sponsor of BLAST CS: GO events, with Maersk branding appearing across BLAST Premier’s digital and physical assets.
Maersk, one of the world’s largest shipping firms, is launching its first major long-term esports relationship. Maersk and BLAST initially worked in November 2021 in Copenhagen, when Maersk sponsored the Fall Final.
The best players from each tournament will receive a Maersk-branded trophy, thanks to a collaboration between Maersk and BLAST. The goal, according to the two companies, is to create “integrated digital campaigns” for fans to enjoy.

“We are happy to welcome back a highly regarded and global brand such as Maersk,” stated Oliver Clarke, Commercial Director. We intend to build on the popular MVP portion from last year’s Fall Final Copenhagen by focusing on fan-led in-person and digital initiatives to engage the Counter-Strike community.
“Bringing on a non-endemic company like Maersk demonstrates the benefits that partnering with Premier brings to partners outside of the gaming and esports sphere.”
“We are delighted to be a sponsor for the second year in a row,” Samuel Poulter, Head of Corporate Branding at A.P. Moller-Maersk, remarked. We chose to sponsor the MVP in order to honor the tremendous skill and tactical intelligence required in this sport, as well as to engage and communicate with fans who are genuinely enthusiastic about their teams and players.”
Maersk is one of the world’s largest shipping firms, and the company’s support for BLAST events is a huge win for the tournament organizer. For both sides, this is a reasonable move in the right direction and a welcome non-endemic sponsor for BLAST Premier tournaments.
