Friendly Fox Studios offers you to play ReDrawn: The Painted Tower, a remake of a classic that will be released on November 12th, 2021. This is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game, which is a type of point-and-click adventure with a story. Players are tasked with finding a list of objects hidden within a specific scene and completing several mini-games/puzzles throughout the game.
Return to a classic and discover Iris’ painted world like never before in this remastered and improved edition of ReDrawn: The Painted Tower! Beautiful new artwork fills modern displays and gives the Drawn universe additional dimension. New puzzle elements give more opportunities to interact inside these spectacular locations, old scenes are packed with new richness, and much more are included in the revamped user interface.
The secrets to untold power and the tiny girl who wields it are hidden in a mysterious tower. Iris has the key to the future of your world and can bring her art to life, but an unknown evil seeks to prevent her from fulfilling her destiny. Only you can save her when she’s kidnapped and locked someplace in the tower, and in the process, save the kingdom! Can you navigate the worlds within her paintings in time to reach her? In this spellbinding Hidden-Object Puzzle adventure, you’ll find out in ReDrawn: The Painted Tower game!
So… we’d want to recommend ReDrawn: The Painted Tower to you all, however, we’d give it a 3 out of 5 star rating if we had to use one. This will be a fun trip down memory lane if you’ve played the original game. Otherwise, buyers should be cautious and avoid purchasing this game without first playing the original.
The visuals are stunning, exactly as we remember them from the original game, with some additional content, as one would expect from a remaster. It looks stunning on a huge screen, as we saw when we streamed it on a 4K flat TV. The story, on the other hand, appears to be what we idealized about the first game. When you revisit the game, you’ll notice that the storyline has a lot of promise in the beginning (just watch the trailer), but it quickly falls short. Seriously, the main plot could easily be adapted into a Netflix kids’/teenagers’ mini-series. Anyway, we bought the ReDrawn: The Painted Tower game primarily for entertainment and to see what this new version of the original game has to offer, rather than simply sitting around and looking for new games to play, and all we can say is that 20-30 minutes into the game, we were already skipping dialogues to advance and finish the game. When you consider the $14 price tag, it’s hardly a fun experience. For the same money, we could have acquired Cyberpunk 2077 or FarCry 5… Not to add that, even for a casual player like us, the main tale + bonus chapter can be completed in about four hours, including toilet and meal breaks.
The “enhanced suggestions system” and “updated interface” allude to the original game, which was released in 2009. The UI and gameplay mechanics are common for Big Fish Games studios. If anything, the game time is stretched unnecessarily due to the lack of a map to guide us. In a HOG with multiple rooms, how can you not add a quick travel system? We were underwhelmed by the outcomes.
