Bungie has confirmed that destiny 2 next season, season 13, is when we are seeing the return of the Fallen SABER and Devil’s Lair strikes in the Cosmodrome. Now, if they’re anything like the return of The Will of Crota strike (which became The Disgraced) while these may run through the exact same areas as the original Destiny 1 strikes, they should have new story components, and will not be a flat repeat of the original. Those changes may literally just be the voicework and renaming the boss or something, but Bungie has seemed to indicate the strikes will be updated for “present-day” and that means they may actually be story missions we run during the season before they become repeatable strikes.
It also stands to reason that the landmass of the Cosmodrome will expand past the 40% or so of it that we have now. I’m not sure if we’ll get to 100% (and we’re certainly not getting the Plaguelands), but I’m guessing they add in a lot more, and that much of the seasonal story content will be focused here so the zone becomes more than just a New Light introductory playground.

New Weapons
No, we don’t know about any exotics coming, but Bungie has talked about new loot next season all the same. One addition will be six total new weapons split with two in each playlist that players will farm for across strikes, Gambit and Crucible. These join the current shotgun, grenade launcher, and pulse rifle found in those playlists as Bungie tries to make farming those playlists more engaging with unique loot.

Finally, destiny 2 new season will add missing weapons to the Tower kiosk, the PvP dominant Felwinter’s Lie, along with Whisper of the Worm and Outbreak Perfected.

New Exotic Armor Farms
Bungie has already realized that people have enjoyed the lost sector farm for exotics that we had with Beyond Light, and they are expanding that to include new challenging farms based on the Lost Sectors on the moon season pass destiny 2, with three new pieces of exotic armor to hunt, one per class, and then I assume they will rotate through the different slots for normal armor farming after that. Given that we got new helmets and gloves this season, the new exotics would be chests or legs next season. Titans, start crossing your fingers for Twilight Garrison, I suppose.

The Story
As Season of the Hunt winds down, it is very clear that Destiny is approaching seasons differently this year, with a story that goes beyond a single season and stretches all the way until the next fall’s expansion, it seems. We killed the High Celebrant, but we have not really even come close to finding and potentially killing Xivu Arath, Savathun’s sister and the Hive God of War. All the lore and a missing previewed cutscene in the game implies that next season will focus on Wrathborn Cabal, with the Cabal being none too pleased about being attacked by the Hive, so much so that they are even willing to negotiate with Zavala and Osiris. So like we’ve worked with factions of the Fallen for a while now, we may start doing that with the Cabal, now that we have a common enemy in Xivu Arath. With the Hunt focused on Hive and Fallen this season, I’m predicting Cabal and Fallen next season (both new strikes are Fallen-based unless they change them).

What We’re Not Getting?
Crossplay is not coming next season but should be here in 2021.
The Vault of Glass is not coming next season, the implication being it might be season 14 or 15 before The Witch Queen.
So yeah, I think we know a lot, considering Bungie hasn’t even started the official rollout of previewing next season yet. If there’s anything important I’ve missed, let me know.
