After having found success with Road Trip Europe and Road Trip USA, Max the Cat Studios finally released their first Collector’s Edition game – Road Trip USA II: West. Head out to the West coast and explore breathtaking terrains across the states in this brand-new game for true hidden object enthusiasts!
In the veins of the Vacation Adventures series and Adventure Trip: Wonders of the World, Road Trip USA II is a hidden object game in the traditional sense. There is very little to distract you from the hidden object experience. The game takes you all over the sun-soaked West Coast of the United States, searching one location after another. With 30 different locations included in the Collector’s Edition, you get to pick and choose which location you want to explore as all locations are unlocked right from the beginning.
Each location lets you complete multiple levels for the total of a whopping 750 levels. It would have been a little tedious if all the levels were hidden object scenes. Luckily, the developer was thoughtful enough to throw in a variety of puzzles here and there. These puzzles are familiar and not groundbreaking by any means, but they provide an effective switch-up from hidden object scenes.
That being said, the hidden object scenes in Road Trip USA II: West are incredibly well-crafted. They are interactive, varied in formats, and usually quite challenging. Apart from objects on the list, there are also additional bonus collectibles to find in each scene such as cats, robots, and shields. These collectibles reward you with extra points and once all are collected, will unlock bonus mini-games at the end of the game. If you are more of a go-with-the-flow type of player, then rest assured, because there are four difficulty modes offered in the game.
One of Road Trip USA II: West’s strongest aspect is its production. While the game visuals are nothing extravagant, they are truly stunning. The sceneries are realistic, richly colored, and of crystal clear quality – just breathtaking. Each scene deserves to be hanged in a frame, maybe without the random objects layered on top. As for the music, it is mostly upbeat and fun, injecting a lively energy into the game.
The standard edition Road Trip USA II: West would have been just as enjoyable, but the Collector’s Edition also packs an array of extras for true hidden object fans. This includes the extra scenes and levels previously mentioned, achievements, a new Alpha Sort hidden object mode, and a new Tile Slide mini-game.
I cannot get through the last level of Solitaire on the last bonus mini game in Utah.
I have to get a minimum score of 22,000 but can only manage 18,000 at the most. Any ideas?
