The evil Queen Nivella is on the mission to gain eternal youth, and nothing can come in her way. The trusted Mirror told the Queen that the only way to achieve this is for the purest heart to break the curse and Princess Lily of Winterhelm happens to be the one! Play as both the King of Lanceya and the Princess of Winterhelm in this latest Dark Romance chapter.
Dark Romance: Winter Lily takes a fresh approach to the classic story of Snow White and does it so effectively. The ability to play as both characters allows the player to view the situation from two perspectives. This feature has backfired on the series in the past when it only created more confusion and compromised the logical flow of the game. However, Winter Lily perfectly executes this feature to add more complexity to both the storyline and the two characters.
Visually speaking, Domini Games has never released a more stunning game. The visuals in Dark Romance: Winter Lily are spectacular in every way, from the intricate artwork and the lively colors to the extravagant special effects and the glorious animations. On the other hand, the audio could have been more polished. The voice-overs for some of the characters can be irritating due to their high-pitched nature, while the soundtracks are repetitive and dull.
The game does not break any new grounds, but manages to remain entertaining from start to finish. Dark Romance: Winter Lily features a rather predictable HOPA gameplay, along with some fairly basic, yet still fun, hidden object scenes. The puzzles are the best aspect of the gameplay because of their wide variety and the function to select between Easy and Hard mode.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Dark Romance: Winter Lily throughout the four-hour game. The bonus chapter is slightly dry in our opinion, although still offers decent entertainment value. The Collector’s Edition includes a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, videos, soundtracks, replayable mini-games, replayable hidden object scenes, achievements, collectibles, and a Boudoir.
Dark Romance: Winter Lily is an all-around solid fairy tale adventure that takes this fantasy series to new heights.
