It is definitely not an easy task to follow the footsteps of Heart’s Medicine: Time to Heal, one of the best Time Management games in the recent years. Still, we hold extremely high hopes and expectations for this sequel, and thankfully, Heart’s Medicine: Hospital Heat delivers.
Heart’s Medicine: Hospital Heat starts with probably the most intense opening sequence in the history of the genre. The Little Creek Hospital is up in flames and our medical intern, Allison Heart, appears to be running toward the burning building! The game itself, however, tells the storyline leading up to what’s happening in the opening. Follow Allison as she navigates through ups and downs of her life and solves the never-ending drama. The Heart’s Medicine series is renowned for its well-written, heartfelt storyline, and Hospital Heat certainly does not disappoint.
The gripping storyline of Heart’s Medicine: Hospital Heat is cleverly-intertwined into every aspect of the game. While the main objective of each level is to fulfill various patient’s requests and keep them happy, the side tasks are what keeping the momentum of the game going. These side tasks are relevant to the events in the storyline and work to propel the storyline forward.
When it comes the difficulty level, Heart’s Medicine: Hospital Heat strikes the perfect balance between fun and challenge. Hospital Heat is surely a hectic game, with tons of frantic clicking and numerous tasks going on at once – the pop-up mini-games also help make the game slightly more complex. Still, Hospital Heat never feels overwhelming; all of the levels are excellently-designed and crafted to deliver maximum entertainment value.
We knew that Gamehouse is capable of creating visually-stunning games, but Heart’s Medicine: Hospital Heat sets the standard even higher. The detailed artwork and the colorful graphics really shine through in this sequel, as well as the animations which have tremendously improved from the previous game. Further, the game features some original music, all of which are beautifully-composed and suitable for the moment.
