Story-wise, Dream Catchers: The Beginning is a pretty interesting game. Although the story is not entirely new or mind-blowing, it captured us right away from the beginning. No matter how many times it was done, the theme of ‘dream worlds’ continued to fascinate us; we enjoy exploring imaginative locations and meet with fantasy characters which is exactly what Dream Catchers has to offer.
Dream Catchers also excel in the presentation. The graphics are beautiful, clear and undeniably epic. The locations have a nice mix between light and dark ones, the hidden object scenes are very detailed and definitely looking great while the cutscenes are reasonably good despite the lack of voice-overs.
All of that said, Dream Catchers: The Beginning lacks the bells and whistles to make this game a memorable one. Dream Catchers feels just like any other dream-travel games; all the standard features of a HOPA are there, but there are no new ones either. The hidden object scenes are quite standard, puzzles can be challenging, but they are certainly not very creative.
Moreover, Dream Catchers is an extremely short game. Any type of players would probably going to complete the game under 2 and a half hour. Still, we enjoyed every second of that 2 hours; so if you are not too tight on your budget, we would nonetheless recommend this game.
